Factle rules and how to play

Factle gives you one question a day and five tries to rank the answers it cares about. You are not looking for a hidden word; you are ordering a list. This page covers what the game is, how the coloured tiles score each guess, when the next puzzle lands and which other daily games pair well with it.

What is Factle?

Factle is a daily trivia puzzle published by Front Office Sports, the sports business news site. Each round shows a prompt, and your task is to work out which five answers rank highest for that prompt and put them in the correct order.

There are two flavours on the same site: the general Factle and Factle Sports, which sticks to sports topics. The publisher describes each game as taking about two minutes, running in any modern browser with no app download and no subscription.

How to play Factle

Read the prompt, then pick five answers and place them in the order you believe the daily list uses, first place at the top. Submit the ranking when you are happy with it.

The board scores each of your five slots. Green means that answer belongs in exactly that position. Yellow means the answer is genuinely in the top five but you have put it in the wrong slot. Grey means the answer is not part of the top five at all, so you should swap it out next time.

You get five guesses to lock all five positions in green. Colour feedback from earlier attempts stays on screen, so the puzzle narrows down like a Wordle round: after a couple of submissions you usually know which names belong on the list, and the remaining work is ordering them.

The daily puzzle and archive

A new Factle prompt is published every day, and the same page hosts an archive of past rounds if you want to warm up or catch up. Completed rounds can be shared, and the sports edition keeps its own separate daily list.

Nothing on this page reveals the current prompt's answers. If you want today's official top five, open the source link below and play the round there first.
